Built Around One Idea — Older Relatives Deserve to Be Well Looked After at Home

Wira is a Kota Kinabalu-based coordination service working alongside families in Sabah to make daily life easier and more sociable for older relatives.

Our Story

How Wira Came to Be

Wira began with a straightforward observation: many families in Sabah live busy, spread-out lives, and yet they want the best possible day-to-day experience for an older parent or grandparent at home. Managing that from a distance — or even from across town — is harder than it looks.

We started in Kota Kinabalu with a small team of coordinators and a clear focus: arrange the practical side of a loved one's daily routine with care, consistency, and good communication. No complicated contracts. No impersonal call centres. Just a named point of contact and a reliable programme the family can follow.

Since then, Wira has grown through word of mouth among Sabah families who appreciate the simple approach: we plan ahead, keep the family informed, and show up when we say we will.

Our Mission

To give families across Sabah a dependable way to keep an older relative well-connected, active, and comfortable at home — and to keep the wider family genuinely informed without them having to ask.

Our Values

  • Consistency — The same people, the same processes, and the same standard each time.
  • Transparency — Families know what is planned and what happened afterwards. No guessing.
  • Respect — Every relative we support is treated with genuine consideration for their preferences and dignity.
  • Local Rootedness — We know Kota Kinabalu and the communities our families belong to.

How We Work

Our Standards and Approach

These are the operating principles that guide every arrangement Wira makes on behalf of a family.

Named Contact for Every Family

Each family is assigned a named Wira coordinator. You speak to the same person and do not need to re-explain your situation each time you call.

Household Privacy

We do not share household information, schedules, or family contact details outside of the named contacts agreed at the start of your arrangement.

Written Plans Before Each Programme

Every occasion, errand schedule, or activity month begins with a written plan shared with the family for review and agreement before anything is confirmed.

Confirmation After Every Outing

Following every errand run or scheduled outing, a brief confirmation is sent to the designated family contact so no one is left wondering what happened.

Small, Consistent Teams

We avoid rotating large pools of staff. Your relative is supported by a small, consistent group of coordinators who are familiar with their preferences.

Monthly Written Summaries

Social Engagement Programme families receive a written summary at the end of each month: what was done, how it went, and what is planned for the month ahead.

Coordination Support for Older Relatives in Kota Kinabalu

Wira works with families across Kota Kinabalu and the surrounding areas of Sabah who want their older relatives to have a structured, sociable, and comfortable life at home. Our approach is built on practical coordination rather than promises — we arrange specific programmes, share clear schedules, and report back to the family without being asked.

Families who turn to Wira typically share a common picture: an older parent or grandparent living independently, with the wider family either working long hours or based in another city or country. What they want is not complicated — someone dependable who will handle errands, facilitate social activity, and keep them informed. That is what Wira does.

Our services cover occasion planning for birthdays and family visits, weekly or per-outing errand coordination, and a monthly social engagement programme that keeps older relatives connected to their community. Every arrangement is confirmed in writing, delivered consistently, and followed up with clear communication to the family. We do not offer regulated professional services — our role is thoughtful, attentive coordination that makes daily life run smoothly.
